Description
The small village of Castel Trosino is located a few kilometers from Ascoli and can be reached following the road, after the bridge of Porta Cartara, surpasses and transcends the House of Borgo Cartaro. The castle stands on the travertine top of the cliff consists of a single large boulder that broke away from the foothills of Colle San Marco in ancient times. You can access the area of the village on one side only; the others are overlooking the valley below the Castellano stream.
Looking typically medieval castle, perched and isolated on the height, dominating a vast landscape and it is an excellent strategic observation point. To this day still it seems entirely manufactured and restored in local stone. The oldest part of the village consists of houses that are located within the solid walls that are accessed through the gate, which has a round arch, on which is hinged the door.
In the central area of the country there is a medieval called factory Manfri King House. A modest stone building on the second floor offers a lovely loggia with three lights, two of which open onto the main façade. Traditionally it is considered the home of Manfred, the illegitimate son of Frederick II and his successor. Another legend has it that the small building was inhabited by a beautiful girl whose Manfredi fell in love. It seems that the king had with the young a short and intense love story. From this narrative many also called the House of the Queen.
Under the hill where the village stands gushes and flows into Castellano, painting it green, the salmacina water source, alkaline and diuretic, known since ancient times for its therapeutic qualities.
In the year 1893 it was discovered the huge Longobard necropolis, who counted the discovery of over 260 tombs, including 92 not accompanied by any object, and most of the other returned its funerary equipment consists of material modest value. In 34 tombs have been found valuable manufactories made of glass, gold and silver. The definition of the Treasury of the Longobards is born from the fine workmanship and the high archaeological and historical interest of the finds, some of which are of special value, well above the average of those found in other tombs Longoba in Italy.
100 square meters on 3 levels, 4 entrances, panoramic views from every floor, terrace, a side garden of about 15sqm. The house is divided into three floors with wooden ceilings with wooden beams and planks of fir. From partially restored with the possibility of obtaining a single apartment or three mini independent apartments. Its ease of access and multiple spaces makes the property a very well adapted to accommodate more than one family, a family who need more than a living environment or a tourist activity as a B & B, in great demand in the region. Very attractive price, excellent investment.
