The first information on the Castle of Scorticata (Castrum Scortigate) dates back to 1141, during which it belonged to the Church, and precisely to the jurisdiction of the Pieve di S. Giovanni in Galilee. There are various information that is characteristic of encounters, oaths, deeds, with characters and gentlemen who are distinguished in local history. Poche, on the other hand, is the information on the real estate size of the architectural works apart from a description of the Anglico cardinal who, in 1371, speaks of the 35 fireplaces constituting the Castle of the Scorticata.
The territory throughout the 13th and fourteenth centuries was the subject of a long dispute between the Renowned Church, the municipality of Rimini S. Headquarters and Malatesta.
The Castle remained under the elegance of the Malatesta until 1462, when the Duke of Urbino Federico exposed it in the name of the Church. After a short recess of the Venetian domination at the beginning of the 16th century, Pope Leone X infeuded the Castle, which had lost all military importance, to the Pio da Carpi.
In the mid-60s, the complex was largely collapsed and converted into a restaurant-hotel.
Today, with the restoration project, it was intended to recover and enhance the use for existing activities, the use of this important symbol of local history.
