When I designed the renovation of this penthouse in the heart of Rovereto, I wanted it to be not just a home, but a true life experience, rooted in the light, history and unique landscape of the city. Rovereto, with its refined Venetian heritage, has always been a crossroads of open thought, culture and discreet beauty: hence the idea of creating a living space that fully reflected its spirit was born.
Located along the main street of the city, elegant and tree-lined, the apartment is located in an elegant building, halfway along the avenue that symbolically connects the historic center with its most modern part and presents all the characteristics that are sought in an attic: wide view, maximum privacy and a light that crosses the spaces with naturalness and warmth.
One of the most significant architectural elements is the large balcony that runs through the apartment on three sides — from east to west passing through the south — like a continuous ribbon. This balcony widens at the southwest side, turning into a large panoramic terrace that represents the vital center of the house. From here, the gaze can embrace the entire mountain arc that surrounds the city, until it is lost in the profiles of the Trentino Dolomites. And it is precisely from this terrace that, on the quietest days, you can distinctly hear the deep and solemn sound of the Bell of the Fallen, a symbol of peace and memory, which resonates every evening from Colle di Miravalle.
The living area is a large open space, crossed by sunlight from when it rises in the east until sunset in the west. The large windows connect inside and outside in a fluid way, making light the true protagonist. The kitchen is separated from the dining room by a double glass wall, which allows plays of transparencies and openness, while maintaining the functionality of the rooms.
The sleeping area houses three double bedrooms and two bathrooms, all made with high quality materials. Discreet built-in wardrobes, embedded in the walls, offer ample holding spaces without disrupting visual harmony. The white of the surfaces and the natural wood of the floor give each room a feeling of brightness and warmth.
In the living area there are an office - a storage room and a third bathroom with sinuous shapes, a laundry room preceded by a full-wall shoe rack.
