Never stop smiling even when you're sad. You never know who might fall in love with your smile.
This beautiful villa has resisted and smiled since 1400, hosting the pievani – priest rectors of the Pieve di San Pancrazio, adjacent to the house. This Pieve is the only example left in the area of a plebeian church with a raised presbytery set on the vaults of a crypt. On the lintel of the door which from the crypt leads into the cell of the bell tower, an inscription with the date is still visible: Year 1147 . The house is on two floors connected by an internal staircase. The ground floor is raised 2m (6.5ft.) from the garden. On the mezzanine, the polished terracotta floors give the environment the right tone of elegance and austerity that the house demands, while the ceilings are in chestnut and terracotta (terracotta tiles). As we enter the house, we have a living room with a relax area furnished with sofas and a fireplace to warm the cold winter evenings. Just past the living room, we find a large dining table you can sit at with friends and enjoy good wine and excellent oil produced in the area. As we move on, we find a large foyer that not only leads to the kitchen, but also opens the door to the garden where there is also a convenient gate that opens onto the street. As we go to the first floor, a long corridor leads us to the bedrooms and ends in a living room where a wooden staircase takes us to a large attic split into a study with wooden floor, a bedroom, a large living room and a bathroom.
The location is another strong point of this villa – just outside the Chianti area and halfway between Florence, Arezzo and Siena, all reachable within 30 minutes.
Shopping, large supermarkets and outlet malls selling Italian brands are not far away – just a 20-minute drive.
In less than an hour you can drive to important historical and cultural centers such as Cortona, Pienza, Montepulciano, Montalcino, San Gimignano and the spas of Rapolano, Chianciano Terme and Montecatini Terme.
The nearest airport is Florence which is 50 minutes away (65km - 40 mi)
