Caltabellotta is an ancient village of 5000 inhabitants located at 750 m. above sea level and whose foundation dates back to the 2nd century BC with the name of Triokala (city of slaves). The place was destroyed by the Romans and was later occupied by the Arabs and then by the Normans.
