I sell an elegant apartment that my parents have lovingly designed for their retirement years. But now that they are elderly, they have decided to follow me and the grandchildren to Rome, so we want to sell this house to be able to buy another.
The apartment is located in the historic center of Vittorio Veneto, a small town of 30,000 inhabitants situated among the prosecco hills, declared by UNESCO a world heritage site for their beauty (here you can see some panoramic photos http: // whc .unesco.org / en / list / 1571 / gallery /). You can find nature (paths to walk or bike) history (the city has over 2000 years if we start from its Celtic origins! And the Vittoriesi are very proud of it) shops and services of all kinds (including a hospital that boasts otorhinolaryngology department as a European center of excellence).
Vittorio Veneto also enjoys a central position among the pearls of Veneto, easily reachable both by train (the station is one kilometer) and by car (access to the motorway is only 4 kilometers): in 40 minutes you can reach, to the North, the first ski slopes in the Dolomites (Cortina d'Ampezzo, where the Winter Olympics 2026 will be held, is 80 minutes away) and, to the South, Venice (50 minutes) and the beaches of the lagoon (1 hour). The nearest airport is located in Treviso (just over half an hour by car), where some low coast airlines like Ryanair call; and 50 minutes from Venice's Marco Polo airport.
The town is very quiet and well organized, linked to traditions (some of medieval origin) and the inhabitants are initially a bit shy, but after two glasses of prosecco they become the nicest and cheerful people you can meet! Furthermore, Vittorio Veneto holds an enviable record: one third of the population is over 65 yeas old, a sign that people live long and well.
The apartment is 117 square meters, to which must be added 32 square meters of double garage on the ground floor. From the garage you can access, through an internal door, the condominium stairs leading to the apartment on the first floor (currently there is no elevator). It consists of a large living room with open kitchen, hallway, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a covered terrace with a sink and fireplace for cooking on the grill. It is very bright as it has windows on three sides (East, West and South).
The floors are parquet (doussié in the living area, oak in the rooms) and ceramic (in the bathrooms). The windows are in wood and double glass. Heating is underfloor. The furnishings have all been made to measure by Italian artisans. In the two bathrooms a whirlpool and a sauna shower have been installed. All new, despite the construction dating back to 1999, because it has never been inhabited (the refrigerator is still packed!).
The building in which the apartment is located is the result of the renovation of an old silk spinning mill. Vittorio Veneto was in fact an important silk production center, and in memory of its past it remained the high chimney that dominates the building. The history and culture of the area peep into the many small details that you will discover slowly and that will make you love this beautiful corner of Italy too.
