Luxury villa in Murazzano, a terrace on the Langhe.
Ca 'Del Gril is a prestigious residence, of about 1,300 square meters with swimming pool, located in Alta Langa near Murazzano in the province of Cuneo, strategically located 15 minutes from the Barolo hills, 30km from Alba, 30 min. from the ski lifts and 45 min. from the sea.
The current building is the result of the accurate renovation, designed by the architect Roberto Bergonzo, of a villa from the early 1900s and a second structure, which was originally originally a barn. The intervention effectively united the two bodies through a graceful turret, giving the architecture a harmonious stylistic coherence.
Located on the crest of the hill, Ca 'del Gril enjoys a unique panorama in which the profile of Monviso stands out. It is surrounded by approximately 3.5 hectares of land of relevance, of which a large part is delimited and protected by laurel ceraso hedges and metal fence, further bordering land for about 12 hectares would be available for sale at a good price.
Access to the property opens on to the provincial road through a remote-controlled driveway gate. To the right of the driveway is the pedestrian entrance. From these two passages you enter the vast courtyard in front of the two main facades, paved with mosaic porphyry and embellished with a central wind rose. The perimeter of the courtyard is protected by a finely decorated wrought iron gate and on the right side of the entrance gate stands a votive shrine, entirely restored. A refined double swing main door, adorned by 3 shaped stone steps and illuminated by period lanterns, leads to the interior of the house.
In line with the main door, on the first floor, there is a balcony with a stone top that incorporates the profile of the steps and a wrought iron railing. Perpendicularly to this first body, the other portion of the building develops with a facade characterized by 4 large arched windows on the first floor, above the 3 garages with wooden doors with pivot opening.
The L-shaped house is spread over three levels connected by an elegant Carrara marble staircase with wrought iron railing placed in the atrium in front of the main entrance. Externally all the facades are decorated with pilasters, stuccos, and trompe-l'oeil, both on the entrance courtyard side and on the garden side.
On the ground floor, a spacious living room with fireplace lit by large windows and connected to the kitchen through a sliding door with cathedral glass from the early 1900s; This cozy and functional setting, entirely furnished with custom-made furniture, with worktops in Langa stone, is particularly scenographic for the arched windows that overlook in full light on the hills of the Alta Langa , to which the majesty of the Alps is the background. Both the living room and the kitchen have French windows from which you can exit outside onto the terrace, delimited by a balustrade in style with the building which continues along the entire stone staircase leading to the swimming pool and the lawns below.
On the first floor, a long and bright corridor connects the master suite, with a very spacious bathroom and walk-in closet; and the guest suite with bathroom and walk-in closet.
From the hallway at the end of the corridor you can access on one side to a studio apartment consisting of a living room with kitchenette, bedroom and bathroom, and on the other side to a large living room characterized by a high wooden trussed ceiling. The particular brightness of the environment is given by the arched windows that can be seen from the courtyard side. On the opposite side, a double-leaf French door, protected by wrought iron grates, receives the golden rays of the sunset. Outside, a stone staircase descends on the meadows to the west.
Also from the hallway, a stone staircase rises to the above turret, used as an intimate reading room and illuminated by refined oval windows, or go down to the first floor where we find the gym, with changing room, services and Turkish bath, and a room for study use that takes light from a particular window-porthole, protected by a wrought iron grate.
The housing unit is completed with an annex consisting of an open space in which the living room, kitchen and bedroom area are distributed. There is also a spacious bathroom and a walk-in closet. An internal spiral staircase leads to the mansard by the same surface.
State of repair
The current maintenance status is excellent since the property has been completely restored. Externally all the facades are decorated with pilasters, stuccos, and trompe-l'oeil, both on the entrance courtyard side and on the garden side.
Internally there are luxury finishes, the entire main house is paved with parquet (with the sole exception of the kitchen and laundry room) and is embellished with Corinthian columns, stuccos and rose windows that adorn ceilings and walls in keeping with the same geometries shown on doors and passages. The furnishings is refined and elegant.
