The Garfagnana Valley is situated north of Tuscany, near Lucca.  Its position, away from the crowded main tourist routes, has allowed the area to retain its unique natural beauty and culture.

From spring to summer, the landscape presents itself in every imaginable shade of green, and in contrast the winter brings snow covered hilltops and mountains.

This is a place where time stands still, and where many old traditions that have long been forgotten elsewhere in Tuscany are still being practiced.
