From this family, in 1825, the painter Luigi Varese (1825/1889) was born. Raised and educated in a family of ancient traditions, he decided not to follow the tradition of his father's company, but to follow his artistic sense. In 1870, with the architect from Sanremo Giovenale Gastaldi, he designed and built Villa Varese, choosing a stunning location overlooking the sea, separate but overlooking Borgo Foce.
