Restaurants and Agriturismi (Typical Sardinian Cuisine)
For a complete meal based on local products and regional traditions:
"Agriturismo Terra Noas": Located in Località Sa Meliana, it is the best choice for authentic cuisine that uses ingredients from its own production such as fresh pasta, cheeses and cured meats. It offers traditional fixed menus and workshops (preparation of bread and pasta).
"Agriturismo Fattoria Su Grabiolu" (Near Villaurbana): About 6 km from the center, it is famous for its award-winning cheeses and Mediterranean cuisine dishes.
The beaches of the Sinis Peninsula. A mosaic of quartz: Is Arutas and Mari Ermi
Let's not call them simply beaches; they are stretches of precious stones. Is Arutas, often celebrated by international rankings as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, is a unique jewel: here the sand disappears to give way to countless grains of polished quartz, similar to grains of rice in shades of pink, green and milky white.
A stone's throw away, the “sister” Mari Ermi enchants with the same crystalline sand, but adds a touch of wild poetry with its very high dunes and a sea that fades from blinding turquoise to cobalt blue. Swimming here is not just swimming, it is sliding into a natural aquarium where the light plays with the seabed in ways that no photograph can reproduce.
Where history meets myth: Tharros
Continuing towards the extreme tip of the peninsula, nature gives way to legend. The archaeological area of Tharros is an open-air museum overlooking the sea. Walking among the Corinthian columns and the ancient Phoenician-Punic streets while the wind smells of salt is a mystical experience. It is a millennial city that looks at the horizon, where every stone tells of ancient trades and civilizations that chose this corner of paradise as their elective home.
Untouched nature: The WWF Oasis
For those seeking the purest soul of Sardinia, the Turre 'e Seu WWF Oasis (protected area by WWF) offers spectacular cliffs and trails immersed in the Mediterranean scrub. Here time stands still: you can spot the queen falcon and admire an endemic flora that explodes in intoxicating colors and scents, all with a view of the Mal di Ventre island, a marine sanctuary of rare beauty.
The Island of Mal di Ventre (in Sardinian Malu Entu) is the wild heart of the Protected Marine Area, a fragment of granite that emerges from the crystalline waters like a solitary mirage. It is not just an island, it is an experience of golden isolation, a place where nature has made no compromises
Traditions and Gastronomy
Villaurbana is nationally famous above all for its excellent tradition of baking: the Sagra del Pane «Su Pani Fattu in Domo». Every year at the end of October the town celebrates its symbolic product, still made with the sourdough passed down through generations with a three-day town festival. Visitors can learn the art of baking and purchase numerous local artisanal products between lit ovens and ancient traditions.
The most famous and representative festival of the city of Oristano, just 15 minutes by car from Villaurbana, is "La Sartiglia", a spectacular and ancient medieval equestrian tournament that takes place every year during the February Carnival.
During the festival, about 120 masked knights gallop to try to pierce a silver star hanging from a green ribbon. Success is considered a sign of a good harvest and luck for the community.
After the challenge of the star, the knights gather in groups of three (pariglie) to perform acrobatic evolutions and human pyramids over the horses launched at full speed.
The “Barefoot Race” of Cabras is one of the deepest and most evocative identity rites of Sardinia, a fusion of faith, sweat and dust that takes place every first weekend of September. Hundreds of men, all dressed in white, run the route of about 7 kilometers that separates the center of Cabras from the rural village of San Salvatore di Sinis carrying the statue of San Salvatore.
How to reach the village of Villaurbana:
The nearest airport is Cagliari Airport, about an hour away by car via the Ss131 (two-lane fast state road). We recommend renting a car locally to move comfortably and independently, as public transport is very limited and would not allow you to discover and fully appreciate all the beauties of the area.
From Cagliari Airport, some rail connections are available, but they only reach the city of Oristano. From Oristano, there are only two daily bus services (Arst company) to Villaurbana.
A second airport to reach Villaurbana is Alghero Airport, which is located about 130 km south of Villaurbana (about 1 hour and 45 minutes / 2 hours by car).
Full urban and cadastral compliance of the property is guaranteed, as well as the total absence of mortgages, foreclosures or other encumbrances.
The real estate unit is sold partially furnished.
Call only if truly interested, no time wasters and agencies.
