The municipality of Fagnano is composed of 9 main hamlets, small rural mountain villages connected to each other by State Road 261, of which the seat of the municipality is in contrada Vallecupa. The main monuments include the Sanctuary of San Rocco di Ripa di Fagnano, the parish church of Santa Lucia, the fortified village of Castello, the church of San Giovanni Apostolo ed Evangelista, Casa Rosati, and the Roman bridge of Campana. The municipality is only a few kilometres from the Stiffe Caves and the Altopiano delle Rocche plateau, where there are skiing facilities and places for sports activities such as snowshoeing, skiing, trekking, mountain biking, forest walks, etc. The provincial capital, the city of L'Aquila, is about 20 km away.
