The Residence is conveniently positioned to explore many traditional hilltop villages; Belmonte Calabro, Fiumefreddo and Falerna to name but a few. Dramatic mountain scenery in the National Park of La Sila (approx 1 ¼ hr drive away) offers many outdoor activities; pony trekking, quad biking, walking with skiing, snowboarding and skidoos in the winter months.
Within a short drive is the town of Lamezia/Nicastro, where there is a vast array of amenities afforded by the principal town for the area together with a zone of archaeological interest and within easy reach is the thermal springs of Lamezia Terme – and Health Spa – La Caronte.
Other areas of archaeological interest are within easy reach and the museum housing the Bronzes of Riace is at Reggio Calabria.
Just 3 km is the coastal town of Falerna Marina featuring a long stretch of beach and a newly appointed promenade where you will find an array of beautiful café bars and restaurants. Just along the coast is the resort of Gizzeria , famous for its air currents which make it the ideal place for kite surfing and hosts many Championship competitions
