The story of the little house (or rather, the small villa)
This villa was born on the edge of the hamlet of Farnè, a small jewel near Vidiciatico and La Cà, in the municipality of Lizzano in Belvedere.
One thing I love about Lizzano is that every hamlet is a real village, with its own services, its identity, its life.

In Farnè, for example, you have the grocery store 50 meters away.
The bar and restaurant are at the Laghetto del Dardagna, just a few minutes’ walk away.
And then there’s the bus that connects everything: Farnè, the other hamlets, Porretta.
And Porretta, well, you’ll find everything there: cinema, thermal baths, shops, trains to Bologna and Pistoia.
In short, you’re in the mountains but you’re never isolated.

The house and its green kingdom
The villa is a small independent building, with its land all around.
And pay attention: the land is almost level.
Now, we mountain dwellers when we say almost level, we mean that yes, there’s a bit of slope, but nothing that makes you want to call a sherpa.

The garden is large, well-kept, and borders the forest on three sides.
Here you’ll find:
- the parking area
- the relaxation area
- the barbecue area
- the dining area for summer lunches
- and, if you want to dream a little, there’s even room for a swimming pool
The house is right in the center of this beautiful garden, like a little queen in her green kingdom.

What is the villa like?
It’s on two floors.
The ground floor is in prefabricated concrete, the original one, but completely renovated.
The upper floor, however, was rebuilt from scratch, in wood, by a historic local company specializing in wooden structures.
A real guarantee, of the kind that makes you sleep soundly even on windy nights.
It’s beautiful. There are no words. In fact, the photos will tell you better about the spaces,

but I want to tell you about the soul.

The day I came back here
One day Stefano and his wife Donatella call me.
Lucie, we’re crazy. We want to resell the house that we sold you and that we renovated with so much love.

I remain silent.
Then I get in the car, load my Massi and leave.

It’s one of those early summer days when the air smells of forest and promises.
I find them smiling, serene, a truly beautiful couple.
On the porch of the first floor they had prepared a snack, an aperitif, a couple of sincere chats.

Stefano tells me about his boat, his travels by sea, his travels by land, the work that takes him all over Europe.
He tells me about the house, about how he renovated it, about how much he loves it.

And then comes the question that burned on my lips and I believe also on yours:
But why are you selling it?
He smiles.
Because, Lucie, I sell this one and buy another. Always to be renovated. I’ve discovered that I like giving life back to houses.

And then I understood everything.
This house is not for sale because it’s not beautiful, it’s not for sale because there’s something wrong with it.
It’s for sale because it’s finished.
It’s for sale because Stefano is one of those who, if he doesn’t have a construction site open, gets hives.
And so here we are: he’s happy to put another house back in order
and you could be the lucky one to enjoy this one, already ready, already beautiful, already renovated.

And so, while I listened to Stefano talk about his desire to create and recreate, I looked at this house with new eyes.
I understood that it’s not just a villa in the green.
I understood that this house doesn’t look for just any buyer.
It’s looking for someone who, walking in, feels that great beating in their heart.
Someone who loves the smell of wood, the silence of the forest, the light that filters through the trees.

And perhaps, while reading these lines, you’re thinking that that someone could be you.

A gem, don’t be scared by the oil heating, it’s all new and Stefano says it consumes very little and pollutes even less. The boiler can be turned on remotely!
