In the municipality of Marzabotto, there is a castle of approximately 1,900 m2, also called "Villa Ada", rebuilt in an eclectic neo-medieval style in the 1920s, probably on the ruins of an ancient house dating back to the fifteenth century. and already present in the documents of the Gregorian and Pontifical land registers.
From its approximately 670 meters above sea level, it enjoys a wonderful panoramic view of the Bolognese hills and, since 2019, it has been included in the heart of the FAI (Italian Environment Fund).
We are about 13 km from the Sasso Marconi motorway exit, in a mountain area, about 500 meters from the town of Medelana and about 25 km from Bologna.


The property includes:
An exciting abandoned historic village, known as "Casamento", made up of buildings and towers covering over 3,500 m2, overall (also in the list of FAI heartfelt places), including
an 1848 rural-style farmhouse;
a double-height pillared barn;
a stable, unfortunately partly collapsed but which still retains the particular wall texture made of stone and lateral buttresses;
a rural house in masonry and exposed stone.

For some years it was a hotel and restaurant. Today, however, all the buildings are in a state of abandonment, even if, in the early 2000s, some of them benefited from a consolidation preparatory to the full recovery of the interiors.
Now, to really take off, this enchanted village needs a project that can enhance the important consistency of the volumes with activities linked to quality tourism, agriculture and a lifestyle that respects the still uncontaminated nature that surrounds it.
