Longiano, Forlì-Cesena (province)

Longiano, a charming historical village situated on the first hills of Romagna (179 m. altitude), is about 12 km. from Cesena and 20 km. from Rimini. It has obtained the prestigious "Orange Flag" of the Italian Touring Club and appears in the list of "Ideal Villages of Europe". It has a long historical tradition and the medieval castle of the powerful Malatesta family, which stands on top of the hill, is a faithful example. There are numerous artistic and historical testimonies, such as the "cast iron museum" and the war refuge. Remarkable is the "Fondazione Tito Balestra" which, housed in the Malatesta Castle, is a museum of modern and contemporary art. It exhibits, among others, works by Campigli, Bartolini, De Pisis, Guttuso, Casorati, Kokoschka, Goya, Chagall. There is no lack of a cultural life that sees in the "Petrella" theatre the most privileged venue. Not to be forgotten are the jealously preserved craft traditions of the ancient textile printing works, present above all in the nearby Gambettola.                                                                                               
Just a few steps from the central Piazza Tre Martiri is the two-family house arranged on two levels, with entrance from Via IV Novembre on the ground floor on a large room (which in the not too distant past was used as an oven), with living room, kitchen, pantry, bathroom and boiler room for a total surface area of 135 square metres. In the rear part of the building there is access to the courtyard which, by means of a staircase, leads to the cellar of about 50 sqm, as well as to the garden with a panoramic view towards the valley. The building, with a total covered surface of about 300 square metres, overlooking two streets: Via IV Novembre, the main street of the Borgo, in front of the Sanctuary of the Holy Crucifix of the XVIII century, and at the back on Via Giovanni XXIII, could also be suitable for a catering activity, given the large spaces available, as well as the presence of the courtyard, the cellar and the garden, connected to the rear road with access ramp.
