My house is situated in Monte Prât, a 15 minute drive from Forgaria. It is a stone house with a wooden balcony like all the house here. It is detached and just enough distance from other houses to enjoy privacy but yet not too far as to feel isolated. Monte Prât is a tourist area and attracts people who like to feel close to nature.  There are lots of walks along mountain tracks, boasting wild flowers and ideal for bird lovers.

The house stands at 800 meters above sea level, so cool in the hot summers.  There are three bedrooms all with wood beams.  The large bedroom has an en-suite.  There is a TV aerial and a mahogany wood floor. All the other rooms have tiled floors.  There is a double bed, a single bed and a pellet stove.  There is a house bathroom which overlooks a large car park. 

Downstairs there is a live-in kitchen which has a large wood stove. Apart from providing heat it can also be used for cooking. There are also four gas rings. Gas is suppled by way of a gas bottle.  There is a table and four chairs. Fridge/freezer. The house is served with electricity and water. An archway leads to the lounge which has a caminetto and a pellet stove. There is a large dresser, sofa and armchair. A large table and chairs.

A garden surrounds the house which is filled with lots of lavender bushes, lilac trees, rosemary, gooseberry, magnolia tree and erica.  There is a large terrace which wraps around the West side of the house for spending many evenings having barbeques with friends. There is also a pizza oven if you want to try your hand at making pizzas. 

The back of the house can be reached by a wooden door from the car park and steps from the terrace on the West side. It is quite secluded and provides some shade on hot afternoons, ideal for relaxing reading a book while having a coffee.

The windows of the house are single pane with wood frames and shutters. The house faces South so there is sun all day on the terrace. 

It is roughly a two hour drive to Austria and Slovenia. The beaches to the south can be reached in one and a half hours. It is roughly 120 kilometers to Venice.
