The hamlet, whose origins date back to the 5th century B.C. and whose traces can be found in the various Celtic, Roman, Frankish, Spanish and Austrian dominations that followed in the area, owes its current composition to a thorough renovation that took place between 2008 and 2013. The latter managed to reconcile the modern requirements of functionality and energy saving (geothermal, insulation, energy class B) with the respect and recovery of the original partitions, all while strictly applying the rules and materials of green building.
The whole project was aimed at creating an oasis where man and the earth share a natural rhythm of life based on mutual exchange: "the earth nourishes the man who takes care of the earth". This goal has been achieved through the organic and biodynamic cultivation of 14 hectares of land, where ample space has been reserved for ancient fruit varieties; today there are 120 varieties of apples, 60 varieties of pears and 40 varieties of figs in the oasis: a living museum of biodiversity.
Animals are bred with the same criteria: pigs, chickens and cows, all surrounded by 6 hectares of forest.
All activities (agriculture, restaurant and accommodation) are well established and growing.
The hamlet is located 40 km north of Milan, 20 km south of Lecco and Lake Como, and 36 km from Orio al Serio International Airport.
