The church, never used as a burial place but solely as a place of worship, was built and inaugurated in 1585, dedicated to the Madonna of Loreto. Deconsecrated in 1919 and sold to private individuals, it now houses a fresco from 1586 depicting the Madonna of the Stars.

Restored in 2005 with interventions including: foundation and load-bearing wall consolidation, roof covering with decorated roof tiles, consolidation and restoration of external facades, it is now used as a professional studio. After the restoration, it has been the venue for important civic events.
