The legend tells: "Once upon a time, on the hill on the left bank of the river Aso, there was an ancient castle with strong arms, and Guidone was its feudal lord. One bad day, however, as often happened in those quarrelsome times, he entered war against the lord of the Rocca Monte Varmine, who wanted to expand also on the other bank of the river, and Guidone, alas, was right in front of his Castle.
The battle became more and more bloody and when Guidone found himself in great difficulty he commissioned a messenger to deliver a letter to his brother Corrado who was Lord of a nearby Castle. The messenger arrived at a gallop in the presence of Corrado. The latter welcomed him and read the message that his brother Guidone had sent him: "Run Corrado that Guidon Fights!". It was a desperate request for help from Guidone who was proudly resisting the enemy.
No one knows the outcome of that battle to this day, but probably the threat was rejected and Guidone got the better, thanks to the fraternal help, so much so that from that day on the Castles of the two brothers Corrado and Guidone were indissolubly linked. from this fact of medieval arms and called: Monte Vidon (from Guidone) Combatte and Monte Vidon Corrado.
