HISTORICAL CURIOSITIES:



The building carries with it a historical plaque in memory of the birth of Venerable Paola Renata Carboni.

Paola Renata Carboni was born into a profoundly atheist family on February 21, 1908 in Montefalcone Appennino; her father Raffaele Carboni, a talented surgeon, was the town's doctor, her mother was called Rosa Maieski, Paola was the fourth of eight children.

Paola was secretly baptized by her aunt Giuseppina Maieski, four years after her birth on 22 June. Her letters testify to her elevation towards the ways of faith and love and manifest supernatural wisdom.

On August 18, while in Grottazzolina, she contracted typhus.

She asked for her confessor from Fermo and her father agreed, she died a saintly death on 11 September 1927 in Grottazzolina, she was 19 years old.



The process for her beatification, which began on 16 August 1951 in Fermo, was approved by the Congregation for the Causes of Saints and entailed the recognition of venerability.
