This beautiful property, consisting of a main villa, an annex and 5 hectares of parkland, is called ‘Tenuta Paganona’ and is located in the open countryside just 1.5 km from the town of Acqui Terme.
The estate, surrounded by a fully enclosed 5-hectare park, has ancient origins and was already marked on the land registry maps in the early 1800s. In the early 1900s, it became an integral part of a complex of residences belonging to the Ottolenghi Counts, who in turn owned the large and historic complex known as Villa Ottolenghi. After 1923, the same craftsmen and, above all, the same architect, the famous Marcello Piacentini (urban planner and designer of buildings and squares in Italy and in the capital itself), who worked on the restoration of Villa Ottolenghi, set about renovating Cascina Paganona, transforming it into an elegant residence, integrated and at the same time clearly visible in the local landscape, thanks to the use of local stone, split and worked by hand for the walls, Luserna stone for the stairs, brick vaults in the hall still with travertine marble inserts and the initials of the names also in marble in the vaults of the loggia, chestnut doors worked with wrought iron hinges and many other details.
After the Second World War and until almost the 1990s, the estate was abandoned and then completely renovated at the end of 1990 by the current owner, who transformed it into a prestigious residence, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and every kind of comfort.
The main villa is on two levels in addition to the ground floor with beautiful porticoes. From the large entrance hall, a loggia enclosed by glass doors leads to the living room, characterised by vaulted ceilings and a beautiful fireplace, a large kitchen with access to the panoramic terrace, a bathroom and a laundry room. Upstairs, the sleeping area consists of a study, a master bedroom with frescoed ceilings, three bedrooms and two very large bathrooms.
