The current building

A further very large, light and airy room (currently used as a bedroom) with the most beautiful double vaulted ceiling is accessed via the open first floor balcony. Completing the first floor you have a large, unconverted hayloft featuring exposed wooden roof beams

A fantastic project
Subject to building permission, one of several ideas would be to turn the entire ground floor into one single open space by incorporating the current stable and storage room. This would allow for the creation of vast glass walls / doors and for creating a living space with simply stunning views.
The idea is further to turn the current cantina into an open kitchen which, with its century old, vaulted ceiling, would create a truly unique kitchen / dining space with views through the living area towards the mountains. A large open central fireplace would create an atmosphere not found elsewhere.
On the first floor an idea would be to incorporate the current hayloft creating 3 to 4 ensuite bedrooms, a small library / office / TV lounge – all with amazing views). On this first floor you could incorporate visible wooden roof beams almost throughout.
Outside one could create a stunning hilltop swimming pool with good sized terraces. The layout of the landscape also offers the opportunity to create an outdoor kitchen with BBQ and a pizza oven.
Power and water are already installed. Mains gas (for heating) is available just outside the premises and can easily be connected. Drainage is, as always with these old farmhouses, via septic tank.
