INFORMATION ABOUT ALLISTE Alliste derives from the word "ali", those of the archangel Gabriel who, according to legend, saved the small town 12 km south of Gallipoli and the Ionian Sea from pirate raids. The town originated from the escape of the inhabitants of the small village of Felline, now a hamlet.
