The important peculiarity consisted - originally - of about a hundred silver coins minted in various Greek and Magna Graecia cities, datable between the second half of the 6th century and the 3rd century BC
The finds are kept at the National Archaeological Museum of Taranto. Faithful copies of them, however, can be admired at the Documentation Center of the Territory of Salve (Palazzo Ramirez).
The most recent coin in the treasure chest is a quadrigate of the mint of Rome referable to the mid-third century BC, that is to the period in which the Romanization process of the Salento peninsula began, culminating in the first century BC
