Sannicola is a town of approx. 6,000 inhabitants located on the Ionian side of Salento, it includes the hamlets of Chiesanuova and San Simone, as well as a large part of the coastal town of Lido Conchiglie, and was established in 1908 by detachment from the municipality of Gallipoli.
