TORRE MOZZA is 117 kilometers from Salento Airport, in Brindisi, 70 kilometers from Lecce, 4 kilometers from Ugento.
The town is a small one, populated almost exclusively during the summer season. It takes its name from the watchtower called Torre Fiumicelli, built in 1565, then renamed Torre Mozza because of collapses and partial injuries that characterize it. The resort offers a crystal clear sea, wide beaches and further south even low cliff with the presence of both beaches and free beach. It is located just 10 kilometers from the beaches of Pescoluse and the famous Maldives of Salento. While it is 25 kilometers from Leuca. Marina di Ugento is a seaside resort marked with four sails in the Blue Guide of Legambiente. In addition, the area behind the coast is part of the Regional Natural Park Litorale di Ugento, where you can enjoy quiet trekking, horseback riding and bird whatching.
UGENTO is located on the Gulf of Taranto. Ancient Messapian center and Roman town hall with the name of Uxentum, in the course of its history it has also been the subject of assaults by the Saracens and Turks. Moreover, it is an important Episcopal place since the eleventh century. Today it is a charming town of more than twelve thousand inhabitants in the center of which there are many points of interest.
Ugento is an archaeological area: from its subsoil Messapian and Roman inscriptions, tombs, ancient walls and even a bronze statue of a Zeus have been brought to light. The bronze statue dating back to the sixth century BC.  It was discovered by chance in 1961, now kept at the National Archaeological Museum of Taranto. The walls of Messapian origin are still partially visible today.
The Museo Civico Archeologico Salvatore Zecca preserves the history of the town. It is housed in some rooms of the former convent of the Celestini, of the fifteenth century and we can admire amphorae and funeral equipment.
