Agricultural estate in Torrenova (Messina) 98070, via San Pietro 3,

The lands of the agricultural estate belonged in past centuries to the Byzantine monastery of San Pietro di Deca (9th century), the remains of which are still present within the estate, in the archaeological site subject to excavation campaigns by the University of Vienna. A gold coin from the year 827 found there is now the logo of the estate.
The monastery was abandoned in the 17th century and in 1818 the estate was purchased by the Barons Cupane; about a century later it passed to the Vergara Caffarelli family of Craco for the marriage between Corrado Vergara IX Duke of Craco and Baroness Maria Cupane.
