Here in Sansepolcro you can enjoy , once a year , the Palio della Balestra,  a crossbow tournament held on the second Sunday of September . The competition dates back in time and consists of hitting a target with bow.
It’s an umissable historical competition taking place in the evocative central square, between Sansepolcro and Gubbio. The crossbowmen  are not the only citizens dressed in medieval costume but you can also  enjoy a parade with over 400 figures in medieval (Gubbio) and Renaissance (Sansepolcro) costumes.
The month of September is also the month of the Flag Games and the Market of Sant'Egidio, a re-enactment with craftsmen and artists in the streets of the town.

Every Friday evening from June to September there’s a flea market in the historic centre.


How to reach Sansepolcro
By car: this is the easiest way to reach Sansepolcro. Take the A1/E35 (Florence-Rome) highway; take the Arezzo exit and then the E78 following the signs to Sansepolcro (34 km).
By train: the nearest train station is in Arezzo. From there, you can take a bus with the company Etruria Mobilità 
By bus: the company that operates in this area is Etruria Mobilità.

The nearest airports are in Perugia, Rimini, Bologna and Florence.
