The position is strategic, thanks to the vicinity to the Amiata mount, considered the green heart of Southern Tuscany with its chestnuts and beech trees, with ski resorts in Winter and trekking on Summer. The sea and the seaside resort in Maremma are only 71 km far.
Casteldelpiano is one of the most important countries of the Amiata area, both for the presence of relevant industrial and artisan activities (Corsini Biscotti Srl  and thanks for other activities) than its sources of attractions.

We don't forget  that this town has always been a major tourist center, in both seasons, since there are many houses of second ownership.
It is also very important from the point of view of hospitality of numerous football teams.. Over the past 30 years has seen hosted  many football  italian teams such as Naples, Fiorentina, Genoa... and lately Siena..Thanks to the sports accomodation and facilities  has been able to accommodate many people.
It  has an important museum itinerary with the presence of very important painters such as Nicola Nasini (his works are present in almost all the country's Churcess and also in the Nasini Museum) and in the Art gallery Edo Kei.
Just at  7 km away from Casteldelpiano we can find the "Garden of Daniel Spoerri", Swiss Artist who opened a park in the 1997  and where currently there are 112 artistic works of him and other artists. (officially resocied by the Italian Ministry of Culture).
You can also admire his  work in a main street that enters the village and dedicated to the tradition of the Palio of Casteldelpiano.
Nearby we find also the famous thermal baths of Bagno Vignonij, Saturnia, the vineyards of Brunello di Banfi, Pienza, Montepulciano.
Castel del Piano is located in the flat part of Val d’Orcia (one of the most exclusive areas of Tuscany, declared Unesco World Heritage). The territory is characterized by olive groves and vineyards that produce and excellent olive oil and a great wine, protected by the related producers association.
In fact Castel del Piano is both “city of olve oil” and “city of wine” and it is really important for the production of many different variety of chestnuts, protected by IGP.
The nearest airport is the Amerigo Vespucci in Florence, 151 km far.
