This Medieval, Historic "Palazzo" was carefully restored with an eye on comfortable, modern living with all the life and features of the historic city centre of Barga.
Barga is known a cultural centre with fantastic restaurants and even a theatre.  The city enjoys two major music festivals: Barga Jazz and Barga Opera which take place in the Summer.  The city is the home of many celebrated artists as well as having strong ties with Scotland celebrated by the city's annual Fish and Chip festival where the residents import haddock especially for the supper.  Other festivals within walking distance include the 'piazzette' where dinner is eaten and a variety of music is played and the Chocolate festival in December. All of this is within walking distance of this amazing home.
The countryside around is stunning with excellent walking and MTB paths.  It can also be explored on horseback.
The number of activities is never ending as, in the winter, there is skiing just a little over one hours-drive away.  In the Summer the beach is also only 65 km away.
On the ground floor, there is a large hallway, the owner had her study and private bathroom with feature stone shower.  This studio has its own separate entrance and so could be rented out to an artist.
Up the original stone steps, the house opens out into a much larger floor with large rooms.  The main bedroom suite has a study section and two French windows opening onto the large balcony with wrought iron railings.  This bedroom has the unusual feature of five fitted wardrobes.  There are then two other bedrooms, one of which has an en-suite bathroom featuring a Jacuzzi shower.  The bathrooms are modern and comfortable, with marble tops and Versace tiles.  The showers are an interesting feature with stone floors and a natural entrance, one is an 'emotional' shower with Jacuzzi features.  The main bathroom has a classic Italian fresco which was painted by a noted New York artist.
The second floor is an open plan living area with library corner, lit with natural light from the skylight above.  This was originally five rooms made into this stunning daytime area.  This is a great room for entertaining or for just "chilling" by the original, stone, fireplace. At the end of this room is a panoramic terrace with the iconic view across to the Apuan Alps.  From here, one can watch the sun set, enjoying an evening aperitif.  The kitchen is modern and well thought-out fitted with top quality Miele kitchen equipment. 
The third floor is almost like a separate guest suite with its own kitchen, bedroom on a "suppalco" (internal feature balcony) and large bathroom.  Again this room enjoys amazing views across to the Alpi Apuane behind which the sun sets.
The house has full central heating with methane gas as well as the fireplace for the "shoulder seasons".
