Only 20 minutes away are busy Barga, “the most Scottish Town in Italy”, and Bagni di Lucca, with its thermal baths, made famous as the summer residence of the court of Napoleon and his sister, Elisa.
The beautiful little walled city of Lucca, with its famous summer music festival. Pisa, its airport and the beautiful beaches of the Tuscan riviera are just over an hour away, as are the ski slopes of Abetone. Florence can be reached in 90 minutes.
