This very characteristic property has been restored with great care and respect for tradition. It is situated in a peaceful valley on the hills of Lucca and is immersed in a charming atmosphere next to a small waterfall.
For over 300 years the original building which was built in the mid-600's above a private bridge, was the mill for Villa Torrigiani and was the famous residence of a noble family from nearby Camigliano.
The renovation was carried out with taste and careful research into details such as the chestnut beams and antique terracotta floors which are handmade and the restoration of the entire stone facade. The main body of the building is on three main levels over the large arch which supports the bridge below where the small stream flows.
The building houses two independent apartments which are connected to each other on both the first and second floor by an internal staircase. There are is also a small apartment and service rooms on the ground floor.
The apartment on the first floor has an independent entrance and consists of a living room with a stone fireplace, a study, a large and convivial kitchen with a dining area, a bathroom and a bedroom.
On the second floor is the second apartment, also with independent access though connected to the lower floor apartment. It is composed of a large living room with fireplace and open-plan kitchen, two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
The outside space has a lovely pergola, an ideal space for lunches and dinners. From there one enters the ground floor where the ancient mill room is located with a large stone mill and a characteristic stone wood-burning oven. On the ground floor is a small guest apartment with a kitchen, living room / bedroom which has a floor view of the underlying water course, and a bathroom. Also at this level is the technical room with laundry and storage.
To complete this unique property is the land of about 15.000 square meters with green walkways, a small waterfall and the ruin of the original mill from the 1400's.
The farmhouse is located in the middle of the hilly landscape of Lucca in the municipality of Capannori which is on the "“Strada del Vino”. All the local services are in Segromigno which is about 2 km from the house. The location of the property is strategic in that one can reach all the main Tuscan cities such as Lucca 12 km, Pisa 40 km, and Florence 70 km. The sea and the beaches of Versilia are about 40 km away.
