The large verandah (about 130 sqm) is the real gem of this property. It has plenty of space for a large dining table as well as its own garden room (35 sqm), which is currently used as an office and BBQ/kitchen area .

Parking for 2 cars at the front door and the village car park is a stone's throw away.

The beautiful medieval stone built village of Colognora, a UNESCO World Heritage Centre and home of the famous “Chestnut Museum” (http://www.museodelcastagno.it – in Italian but the pictures in the photo-gallery speak for themselves) is only 20 km north of Lucca, and about the same from Bagni di Lucca. The village was also the set for the 2008 Spike Lee film The Miracle at St Anna.

A bread van comes every day, fruit and vegetables twice a week and general grocery van once or twice a week. You can buy fresh eggs and chickens from the locals and there is a café/restaurant in Vetriano, about 1km away.

The bustling village of Diecimo (10 minutes drive) has a good variety of shops (including 3 grocers, bakery, flower shop, hardware shop) and restaurants as well as a small railway station on the main Pisa/Lucca to Aulla line. The easy drive to the beach (Viareggio) is 50 minutes and the excellent ski resort of Abetone is just over an hour away.

Pisa airport is 1 hour away.
