You understand it immediately as soon as you see it and above all when you enter the house and you realize that nothing is out of place, everything is tidy and bright and immediately you are impressed by that smell of clean, the floors that shine, the care of every detail. Everything is precise and perfect.
I like it!
Today I went to Tuscany, to San Marcello Pistoiese, about 700m above sea level, 21 km from the ski slopes of Abetone, 34 km from Pistoia and 77km from the sea of Viareggio and Forte dei Marmi (calculates with google maps). San Marcello is a town that has always been a tourist resort known as a mountain climate station. It is a very typical and characteristic village of the Tuscan Apennines that hides a very long and very exciting hanging bridge between its valleys and an important telescope used as an astronomical observatory.

The house I'm telling you about today is not only a house but is one of the three villas that in the early 1900s the Admiral Lodolo made to build to accommodate his friends on hot summer days. Think of that welcome!
Although it is right in the center of San Marcello, it is not easy to find this villa: you need to cross the town center and enter from a large gate and then walk along the " serpentina" road that crosses the garden of the house (which is more a park than a garden) and that going up creating two flat rooms furnished with fountain chairs and tables.
The villa is there at the top of the street, a thick hedge separates it from everything, then the lawn, the cedars of Lebanon and the terrace in front of the front door with two symmetrical rows of stairs bordered by white stone columns and the front door.
Of the interiors I will tell you about it later, now I describe the exterior.

The house is the classic square-plan villa on three and a half floors, the external geometry is characterized by the symmetry of both the building and the typical garden of the time of construction. The part of the garden around the house is flat, you reach it as well as with the street on the side, even walking along a staircase delimited by hedges and columns that leads right to the center of the house: I climb the staircase opens flat first the façade of the house and then the garden all around.
Garden that has an important and symmetrical tree furnished with stone elements, Art Nouveau concrete statues and worked iron tables and white paintings.
On the back of the house there is a sloping lawn with areas a promenade between flat areas and fruit trees.
From every part of the garden there are the roofs that draw the skyline of the village, the rolling Tuscan hills and more beyond the Tyrrhenian Sea ...

If the garden is beautiful, the house inside is wonderful.
Arranged on two floors of the main house plus a floor of basement cellars and an attic which is a second attic apartment, on the entrance floor there is the living room with dining room, living room and fireplace, the study, the very modern kitchen and with wood-burning fireplace, the bathroom, and the laundry room, upstairs there are four bedrooms and three bathrooms.
Above there is also the attic apartment.
