In the heart of the famous Chianti Classico wine region, just 12 km from Siena, is this historic yet elegant winery with an ancient castle offering spectacular 360-degree views of the surrounding hills. The estate covers approximately 48 hectares of land with excellent exposure, including 14 hectares of Chianti Classico DOCG vineyard (12 hectares are in production), 3 hectares of olive grove, woodland, arable land, and pasture.
The carefully restored castle, with a net surface area of approximately 1,300 sqm, comprises 4 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, a large kitchen, a living room, a dining room, several reception rooms, and an impressive library/study with a fireplace, as well as an independent guest wing consisting of a kitchen, a living/dining room with a fireplace, 3 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms. Both units are connected internally.
The historic wine cellar, of about 300 sqm, has 6-meter-high ceilings and includes a Roman wall.
Adjacent to the castle is a private garden of 4,200 sqm, while the south-facing side of the hamlet features an 18 x 9 m infinity pool with a pergola, bathroom, and changing rooms, overlooking the surrounding vineyards and grounds.
The new wine cellar of about 1,000 sqm (built in 2001) is equipped with the latest winemaking techniques, an aging cellar with barriques and tonneaux, and a tasting room connected to a large terrace.
The 14 hectares of vineyards are all registered as Chianti Classico DOCG, with 12 hectares in production. The current production consists of 4 red wines - Chianti Classico DOCG, Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG, two IGT Super Tuscans, as well as Vinsanto and 2 Grappas, with an annual production of about 65,000 bottles and the possibility of increasing up to a maximum of 100,000 bottles per year.
