Description
Armonia del Brunello Winery: Brunello di Montalcino DOCG and Manor House – Montalcino, Siena – Tuscany
REF. MON311
Where Brunello meets Mozart
In the heart of the Val d'Orcia, on the hills of Montalcino, this 11th-century medieval estate is home to one of Italy’s most unique winemaking practices: the vines grow to the accompaniment of Mozart’s melodies, played through hundreds of BOSE speakers strategically positioned amongst the rows. A choice born of agronomic research conducted by the Universities of Florence and Pisa, which explored the effects of musical frequencies on plant health.
The vineyard and winery
Across a total of 3.9 hectares — of which 2.95 are classified as Brunello di Montalcino DOCG and 0.95 as Rosso di Montalcino DOC — 100% Sangiovese Grosso is trained using the Guyot and spurred cordon methods, with a density of 5,000 vines per hectare on clay-loam soil at altitudes between 250 and 330 metres above sea level. The winery covers a total of 800 square metres and features over 50 French oak barrels for ageing. Agricultural technology and machinery are included in the sale. Annual production amounts to approximately 37,500 bottles across two labels: Brunello di Montalcino DOCG and Rosso di Montalcino DOC.
The villa
The 307 m² main villa is spread over two floors with separate entrances.
Ground floor: living room with kitchen, veranda with fireplace, double bedroom with en-suite bathroom, reception/lounge area and laundry room.
On the first floor: study with terrace, two double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms (one with a bath) and two connecting twin bedrooms.
The accommodation
The 188 m² guest house comprises two independent apartments:
The First: 80 m² with a living room with fireplace, fitted kitchen, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a covered terrace;
The Second: 35 m² with a living room with kitchenette, 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom and a terrace.
Both overlook the L-shaped panoramic swimming pool.
Terracotta floors, exposed beams, stone and brick blend with contemporary comforts such as air conditioning.
A solar panel system ensures energy efficiency across the residential and commercial areas.
All set across approximately 7.3 hectares of vineyards, an olive grove with 60 trees, coppice woodland and gardens, with a view of the Sienese countryside stretching out, vast and tranquil, towards the horizon.
