Umbria – Paciano (PG): a charming center surrounded by prestigious olive groves and rich forest vegetation, the village of Paciano is located at an altitude of 392 meters above sea level on the slopes of Mount Petrarvella. The origin of the name is quite controversial: according to historian Ciatti, it may stem from Janus and Epeo, "Peace of Janus"; others believe it comes from the ancient Pacianati of Festo or from Pacino, a nephew of King Volpinio known as Lucullus; still others think that Paciano gets its name from the Roman family Pacia, frequently cited in ancient inscriptions, especially in Tuscany.

Today, it still retains its intact medieval village that overlooks a superb panorama: 6 kilometers to the North is Lake Trasimeno; slightly further away are the lakes of Chiusi and Montepulciano and the Val di Chiana Senese. Its location is truly enviable since it is possible to reach major roads and railway lines in just a few minutes; but above all, it is at the heart of an area rich in art and history: just a stone's throw away are Chiusi, Città della Pieve, and other historical villages of the Trasimeno; a little further away are Perugia, Assisi, Cortona, Chianciano, Orvieto, and many small, lesser-known villages that are jewels set in a sea of mottled green, just like Paciano. In its 16 km² of total area, making it the smallest municipality in Umbria, approximately 950 inhabitants live.

The "Podere dei Pini" is located just 4.5 km from the historic center of Paciano and only 2 km from the nearest inhabited area, a hamlet of the Municipality of Città della Pieve that offers all essential services.
