Casa Mariangela is a beautiful 3 bedroom/2 bathroom 280 sq.mt. stone house set in 1,900 of grounds.  It enjoys a panoramic position with sweeping views overlooking a medieval hilltop castle and the valley below, a vista stretching to the distant mountains.

The lowest level of Casa Mariangela contains the old cantinas (above ground cellars) accessed by internl staircase from the floor above and from the garden.  Currently white-washed, the ceilings are vaulted stone.  One of the rooms was historically the water cistern.  Another room has been used to create a "rustic" or summer kitchen and has an open fireplace.

An internal staircase can easily be added between the top and middle floors allowing for a versatile distribution of rooms to create additional bedrooms, bathrooms, a hobby room, an entertainment area, etc., as the purchaser desires.

A terraced 400 sq.mt. garden stretches along one side of the house, and the driveway curls around the other side to form covered parking at the rear of the property, where there is also a two-car garage.

ALVITO AND THE CIOCIARIA 

Alvito is one of the major medieval hilltop towns in the area of Italy called the Ciociaria, the name given to the fertile land that lies south of Rome but north of Naples, situated inland in the hills in the heart of Italy. 

The Ciociaria region is within easy reach of both Rome and Naples and their respective airports. A day's shopping in Rome is a common pastime, while an even shorter drive brings you to the charming beaches south of Rome.
