Casa Paula is right in the historic centre of Fondi. Located mid-way between Rome and Naples and is easily accessed by trains running by the hour from either location. 

A charming old house, Casa Paula has been beautifully restored. Great care and thought has gone into the preservation of the original features such as the stone walls, wood ceiling beams, marble stairs and terracotta floors. 

Approached from just off of the main ancient corso, along cobbled streets, a gate opens onto a semi-private piazza. You are greeted by two front doors, one leading up the marble stairs to the main living lounge and kitchen, the other into the master bedroom. The large bedroom, which can also be accessed from the front stairs, has an ensuite bathroom, and is located in what would originally have been the stable and manger for animals and storage for tools, which has been sensitively restored with stone walls, wood ceiling beams and terracotta floors. 

Up the stairs in the main living area you are greeted by a cozy open living room with a wood burning fireplace and French doors opening onto a balcony overlooking the small piazza below. To the back there is a dining area and an elegant new corner kitchen. 

There is an antique wooden kitchen table and chairs, a linen-upholstered couch, Persian rug, Murano chandelier and custom-made raw silk drapery, which further enhance the stone walls and old wood ceiling. The kitchen is fully equipped with stove, oven, fridge and washing machine. 

On the third floor you will find a second bedroom, with a Juliet balcony looking down to the cobbled street below, and another bathroom.

One of the outstanding features of the home is the terrace spanning the width of the house on the fourth floor. This floor is currently used as a further sitting area but could be used as an office or study. There are plants, small trees and a vessel for the collection of rain water on the terrace. 


ABOUT FONDI 

Fondi is a friendly town with a population of approximately 40,000 people. It is located halfway between Rome and Naples and 10 minutes from the seaside town of Sperlonga. The 15-kilometre (9 mi) long sandy beach stretches from Sperlonga in the south-east to Terracina in the north-west. 

A beautiful town with an historic 14th century castle situated in the main pedestrian square in the centre of the old town, Fondi has many fine restaurants, cafes, shops, a cinema, 
hospital, and supermarkets as well as fresh fruit and vegetable markets. There is a large farmers market every Sunday where you can find just about everything including fresh fruit, seafood, 
vegetables, meat, shoes, clothes, household goods and more. 

Fondi is easily accessible by car or train. It is on the main train route between Rome and Naples. The town is vibrant and the weather is fine all year round.
