The building was born as a convent of the Celestini Friars, originally annexed to the ancient Church of San Bartolomeo. In the early seventeenth century it was purchased by the Barone Rini, who turned it into a noble residence - which named the current Via Rini, a historic paved artery in Chianche that connects Piazza Sant'Anna to the "scaledda", a symbol area of the ancient village.
