Beyond this is the sumptuous Cefalù, with its Medieval old town and UNESCO-protected cathedral.

If you want to explore the island's urban life, a little over 40 minutes will bring you into Palermo, a huge, resurgent metropolis and Italy's fifth-largest city. Whether you want world class opera, international boutiques and fine dining, or street food, bustling markets and a passionately supported football club, there is something for you here.
