One of Casa Bovio’s features that we’re most excited about is its beautiful rooftop terrace. Positioned facing South-east, this terrace offers a delightful vantage point to watch the sun rise over the countryside while sipping your morning espresso.

The direct sunlight throughout the day makes it perfect for soaking up the Sicilian sun while sunbathing, and, as the day draws to a close, some much needed shade in the evening provides a serene retreat from the sun to wind down from a day of exploration and adventure in southeast Sicily.

In the heart of gold
When Noto was destroyed by an earthquake in 1693, three architects were given free rein to rebuild it as they saw fit. They rebuilt the whole city in a baroque style with honey-coloured limestone and redesigned the streets to align with the path of the sun. This means that when the sun shines on Noto (which in Sicily feels like all of the time), the whole city is illuminated with a beautiful golden glow.

Nestled in the heart of Noto, Casa Bovio finds itself right in the centre of this glow, just a stone’s throw away from attractions such as the cathedral of San Nicolò and Fontana d’Ercole. Being so central also grants it easy access to amenities like supermarkets, bakeries, restaurants, and cafés all over the town.

A short drive to anything
If you want easy access to the hustle and bustle of city life without the stress of living in it, Noto is the perfect place. Noto lies almost perfectly between Ragusa and Siracusa, two of Sicily’s biggest cities, and is no more than an hour’s drive from either. If you’re still not satisfied, the biggest city in east Sicily, Catania, is just 80 minutes away.

On the other hand, if you are looking for a beach to lie down and relax, you are equally spoiled for choice. Lido di Noto, Avola, and Marzamemi are all fantastic options less than 30 minutes away by car.
