San Vito Lo Capo is famed for its fine white sand and warm, endlessly clear waters. A favourite for holidaymakers from all over Italy and far beyond, its panoramic views and pastel colours bringing tourists flocking from April to September.

This can leave the small town feeling overcrowded, but the small community of Macari – with only a few hundred permanent residents – is a peaceful escape, so close to the beach resort that it would be walkable on a cool day. This is the perfect spot to be based.

SPECTACULAR SEA VIEWS

This semi-detached, two-bedroom property can comfortably sleep five, and the twin bathrooms allow for even more visitors on a short term basis. The semi-basement floor is bright and airy, with windows along the seaward side and a small patio with outdoor sink and shower. It contains a pair of bedrooms, with a bathroom fitted with a shower. Upstairs, a split-level living space leads to a large kitchen that comes with all appliances including a fan oven and dishwasher.

Upstairs is a three bedroom whose en-suite bathroom is big enough for a tub. The roof terrace is small but offers the best views of the whole property, facing out to sea and offering a prime vantage spot from which to enjoy the area's legendarily beautiful sunsets.
