Podere della Quercia is just 8 km from Volterra, an old town in Tuscany perched on a sandstone hill surrounded by stunning landscape reminiscent of a Renaissance painting. Its countryside is a sight to behold, with rolling hills framed by cypress trees, olive orchards, and vineyards that change colour with the seasons.
The farmhouses at the hill’s foot blend in with the surrounding trees, ensuring maximum privacy and a quiet haven from the outer world.
Volterra is the nearest town where to go for daily errands. Moreover, the farmhouse is an ideal starting point to explore some of Tuscany’s most important cities: San Gimignano is just a 30-minute drive (28 km). It takes one hour to reach Siena (57 km) and Pisa (62 km) and one hour and fifteen minutes to get to Florence (75 km). Moreover, on your way to Florence, you’ll cross the Chianti region, known for its vineyards and superb wines.
Marina di Cecina is about 50 km away (less than one hour by car). Here, you can find a variety of beaches from north to south, from the most equipped and vibrant to the wildest and most remote.
Golf lovers will only have to drive 40 minutes to play at an excellent golf course:
- Golf Club Castelfalfi is about 27 km from Volterra. This 27-hole golf course is immersed in a typical Tuscan landscape with cypresses, olive trees, and natural lakes.
