General description

Montegabbro is a small hamlet of medieval origin, not far from the SS68 road that from Colle di Val d'Elsa leads to Volterra.
The castle and the surrounding area were within the jurisdiction of the bishop of Volterra but have been disputed for a long time. Only at the end of the 13th century Pope Gregorio X, the Tuscan vicar of Carlo d'Angiò, confirmed the property of Montegrebbio.

Inside this characteristic village, where is accessed via a charming avenue of cypress trees there is the property.
A barn of about 105 square meters perfectly restored with two outbuildings and private garden of 500 square meters.

The larger annex is renovated, of about 30 square meters, is used as an outbuilding, the other of about 12 square meters is also renovated in its raw state.
Below the barn with access from the outside to the ground floor there is a beautiful cellar of about 90 square meters dug into the tuff where ancient times the olive trees of the area were among. There is still the original millstone millhouse with the rounded stone blocks above which the mills were turning. A small part of the cellar was instead used to make wine with the old equipment still present.
