Acqualoreto is a quaint and very authentic little borgo perched on the hills high above the Tiber Valley. The municipality is Baschi thought the geographical location is much closer to the famous little hilltop town of Todi. It is a well kept medieval hamlet  and still harbours plenty of year round inhabitants whereas during the summer time the village can even be called lively. The house

From the wooden front door one enters directly in the cosy living room with fireplace and the adjacent kitchen. Just around the corner from the house, and with another property in between, lies the separate yet very convenient "cantina" that comes with the property. The area

The property is located in the triangle formed by the famous cities of Amelia, the oldest city of Umbria (30 km), Todi (14 km) and Orvieto (24 km) of course known for its stunning cathedral. The area is especially known for its authenticity and unspoilt nature as well as the stunning panoramic views. At the village square are a small bar and a little restaurant. Every Wednesday most foreigners from the area gather for an aperitivo and to exchange stories and it is an easy way to mix with the locals. Two other nearby villages offer grocery shops, a post office, bar, hairdressers and even a small spa.

Some years ago a new initiative was started in the area, the Camino dei Borghi Silenti. A hiking itinerary that brings visitors from all over Italy and abroad to explore and enjoy the beautiful area. With them came the need for places to spend the night and by now there is quite lot of interest in (air)bnb properties, also in Acqualoreto. Owners can request a listing with the organiser of the event and very easily  find clients to rent their properties to.
