Do you know Angelina Mango? She is daughter to a famous Italian singer and songwriter Pino Mango, commonly known as Mango. She’s also the latest winner of the Festival di Sanremo which is the most popular Italian song contest.

Now with her the Italian song is going around the world once again.

In an editorial published lately in the New York Times, Alex Marshall – music expert for the prestigious US newspaper – analysed Angelina’s performance at the Eurovision song festival and predicted an international future for her on a par with Maneskin and Mahmood.

In her song ‘La Noia’, – writes Marshall – Angelina sings in Italian about the joys of boredom, over a catchy beat.”

“ ‘La Noia’ is an invitation for people to use moments of boredom for personal analysis – Angelina Mango said – Sometimes we need to reflect on our past and everything that went wrong in our lives, so we can then see the positive side.”

The journalist also points out that in the recent editions of Eurovision, Italy has developed the habit of choosing artists who then become stars outside their home country.

“In both 2019 and 2022, – Marshall writes – the country selected Mahmood, a singer whose songs now register tens of millions of views on YouTube. In 2021, Italy opted for the rock band Maneskin, which has become so well known that now it plays all over the world.”
