Help Central Italy to Rise again after the Earthquake

| September 1, 2016

Italian Red Cross is mobilizing to help Central Italy, where we are based, to rise again after the deadly earthquake just occurred during the night of August 24 and that struck many towns in Marche, Umbria, Lazio and Abruzzo regions.

In just a few seconds the quake erased the history and traditions of families and places dating back to centuries ago. But we can’t forget and we will help their inhabitants to settle down again in their land and homes and bring the marvellous ancient towns of Arquata, Amatrice and Accumoli back to life.

You can also contribute to the future of many evacuees and support Central Italy making a donation to the Croce Rossa Italiana (Italian Red Cross) that has set up a special account to help people affected by the earthquake:

IBAN: IT38R0760103000000000900050
BENEFICIARY: Associazione della Croce Rossa Italiana
REASON FOR PAYMENT: “Poste Italiane con Croce Rossa Italiana – Terremoto Centro Italia”

I am interested in helping to temporarily re home people displaced as a result of the earthquake in central Italy. Please let me know if this is something your organisation can help me to do. I have a House available near Orvieto

      Hi Hannah!

Thanks a lot for your offer. Unfortunately we can’t help you directly, but if you speak a little Italian I can suggest you this website completely devoted to help people hit by the quake: Here people like you offer their help (a home, a car, etc.) and you could add your message too. So people in need of a temporary house can read your message.

Another thing you could do is contacting the Townhalls of San Benedetto del Tronto (, Grottammare ( and Porto Sant’Elpidio ( in Le Marche region for instance, or Magione ( on Lake Trasimeno for example, as many hotels there are now hosting many people from those areas affected by the earthquake. But probably some of them would be happier with living closer to their towns or in a home like yours.
